US H1 scrap prices edged higher slightly during week ended March 14th

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): The US H1 scrap price average prices were at $173.50 per long ton, as on 7th March, 2016. The prices climbed higher by $1.0 per long ton when compared with the previous week. The scrap prices have witnessed an increase after holding steady for many consecutive weeks in a row.

The average price of US H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia was $173.50 per long ton, rising by $1.0 per long ton. The scrap prices had averaged at $172.50 during the week prior to this.

The H1 scrap average price in Pittsburg was $159.50 per long ton.  The average price witnessed no change when compared with the previous week’s price. In Chicago the prices averaged at $187.50 per long ton. The prices here rose marginally by $3 per long ton when matched with the previous week. The average price in Philadelphia was $173.50 per long ton. The prices here held steady when compared with the week before.

Meantime, the weekly crude steel output by the US increased by 2.9% during the week from March 6th to March 12th. The output surged higher by 49,000 short tons to 1.722 million short tons during the week.
