ALBANY (Scrap Monster): The US H1 scrap price average prices were at $172.50 per long ton, as on 7th March, 2016. The prices climbed higher by $9.0 per long ton when compared with the previous week. The scrap prices have witnessed an increase after holding steady for many consecutive weeks in a row.
The average price of US H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia was $172.50 per long ton, rising by $9.0 per long ton. The scrap prices had averaged at $163.50 during the week prior to this.
The H1 scrap average price in Pittsburg was $159.50 per long ton. The average price witnessed no change when compared with the previous week’s price. In Chicago the prices averaged at $184.50 per long ton. The prices here rose considerably by $12 per long ton when matched with the previous week. The average price in Philadelphia was $173.50 per long ton. The prices here surged higher by $15 per long ton when compared with the week before.
Meantime, the weekly crude steel output by the US dropped marginally by 1.1% during the week from February 27th to March 5th. The output declined by 19,000 short tons to 1.673 million short tons during the week.
