SHANGHAI, Mar. 11 (SMM) – Steel plants in Tangshan will be forced to cut production for the upcoming International Horticultural Exposition held there, one galvanized structural parts producer in Hebei told SMM. Steel plants in Tangshan are expected to be forced to cut output by 30-50% during June 14-20.
“Production restrictions in Tangshan should affect galvanized product supplies,” said one SMM zinc analyst.
One galvanizer told SMM galvanizing prices rose significantly before the 2016 Chinese New Year holiday as domestic steel mills hiked prices frequently. Prices for hot-rolled, cold-rolled and galvanized plate/coil increased 9%, 5% and 2%, respectively.
