ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import  average prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) gained sharply by $14 a ton  week-on-week to $194 a ton during the week ended March 04, as per the latest  figures from the Steel Index.

According to TSI, daily benchmark index for  deep-sea Turkish imports of HMS #1&2 80:20 rose $10 a ton from last Friday  to end the week at $197 a ton CFR Iskenderun port.

Last week  participants were stating it looked as if the market would reach $200 a ton and  above, and this still looks to be the case, with an ex-US trade completed at  $198.50 a ton the week.

Domestic rebar prices have risen sufficiently to  allow for this rise, in what appears to be a healthier domestic steel market all  around at present.
