Sonoco Recycling recognized for world-class safety and health practices

DURHAM (Scrap Monster): Sonoco Recycling LLC’s Durham, North Carolina recycling facility has been awarded the North Carolina STAR Award in recognition of its efforts to promote effective safety and health management practices. The facility had initiated its efforts toward certification in 2015. This is the company’s second STAR site in North Carolina.

The certification by the North Carolina Department of Labor’s STAR Consultation Program ensures that the Durham site has all mechanisms to control hazards at workplace. The site has reported extremely low levels of lost workday injuries.
