Prices for indirect zinc oxide rose 400 yuan to 14,000-14,700 yuan per tonne this past week, SMM data show.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 26 (SMM) - Prices for indirect zinc oxide rose 400 yuan to 14,000-14,700 yuan per tonne this past week, SMM data show.Orders at zinc oxide plants increased only limitedly after they resumed production.

“Downstream buyers refrained from buying on high zinc oxide prices after the holiday. Zinc oxide producers were mostly unwilling to build zinc ingot stocks.”said one SMM zinc analyst.

Trading for zinc slag was light. Zinc slag supplies tightened as zinc oxide producers returned to the market.
