TCs of domestic zinc concentrate (50%) in March fall 50 yuan to 5,200-5,400 yuan per tonne (zinc content).

SHANGHAI, Feb. 26 (SMM) - TCs of domestic zinc concentrate (50%) in March fall 50 yuan to 5,200-5,400 yuan per tonne (zinc content), and those for imported zinc concentrate (50%) dropped $10 to $130-150 per dry metric tonne (DMT), according to SMM data on February 25.

SMM understands some Chinese zinc smelters plan to increase purchases of domestic zinc concentrate whilst reducing zinc concentrate imports in 2016 due to significant decline in TCs of imported ore. TCs of domestic zinc concentrate were stable at most zinc smelters, and fell at only a few smelters.

Losses from imported ore expanded 160 yuan to 870 yuan per tonne (zinc content) compared with domestic ore, SMM calculates. Traders quoted around $100 per dry metric tonne (DMT), but zinc smelters only accepted TCs of imported zinc concentrate above $150 per dry metric tonne (DMT), leaving no trading.

TCs of domestic zinc concentrate (50%) were stable at 5,300-5,500 yuan per tonne (zinc content) this past week, and those for imported zinc concentrate (50%) were $120-130 per dry metric tonne (DMT), according to SMM data.
