Trading activities gradually pick up in Chinese scrap battery market recently with return of traders, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 23 (SMM) – Trading activities gradually pick up in Chinese scrap battery market recently with return of traders, SMM understands.

Mainstream traded prices were at 7,300-7,400 yuan per tonne for scrap motive batteries and 6,750-6,900 yuan per tonne for scrap automobile batteries (white shell).

SMM survey of 12 scrap battery traders reveals that 6 of them have restarted operation at present with 3 still out of operation and 1 trader buying small amount of scrap batteries from battery stores as inventories. The rest 1 trader in Shandong show its willingness to give up current jobs due to local stricter environmental protection inspection.
