China Nickel Ore Inventories Keep Falling after Week-Long Holiday

Inventories of nickel ore at six major Chinese ports kept falling during the first trading week after the 2016 Chinese New Year holiday, SMM survey finds.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 22 (SMM) – Inventories of nickel ore at six major Chinese ports kept falling during the first trading week after the 2016 Chinese New Year holiday, SMM survey finds. 

"Pick-ups by domestic NPI producers near the Port of Lianyungang led to the drop," SMM nickel analyst points out. 

Nickel ore inventories at the six ports were 8.41 million tonnes last week, down 150,000 tonnes from the pre-holiday level, according to SMM data.
