Ardagh Group has announced the launch of new online educational recycling programme that targets elementary schools, teachers, students and parents.

SPOKANE (Scrap Monster): Ardagh Group has announced the launch of new online educational recycling programme that targets elementary schools, teachers, students and parents. The programme makes use of animated videos, coloring sheets and activity books that promotes the importance of recycling and reusing. It also emphasizes the need to choose healthy and safe packaging for food and beverages.

The programme titled ‘Captain Cullet and the Little Gob o’ Glass’ features two animated stars- Captain Cullet and Little Gob o’ Glass. Captain Cullet is a robot who crushes glass containers so they can be melted and made into new glass bottles and jars. The Little Gob o' Glass is a drop of molten glass.

The free educational programme offers two animated online videos, a fun activity book comprising of games, mazes and puzzles to suit various age groups and coloring sheets featuring the two animated characters. The programme also offers certificate upon successful completion of the programme.

Alex Robertson, Chief Commercial Officer at Ardagh Group’s Glass North America division hoped that the programme will contribute much to instill positive habits at a very young age. The key objective of the programme is to educate today’s youth about the impacts of glass on environment and the importance of safe recycling practices.

Ardagh Group is a Luxembourg-based producer of glass and metal products. It was founded in 1932 as the Irish Glass Bottle Company. Today, it operates 89 facilities in 21 countries, employs approximately 19,000 people and has more than €4.7 billion in revenue.
