Glencore Copper Output Falls but Zinc Production Grows in 2015

Glencore’s 2015 annual report shows copper output produced with its own resources fell 3% to 1.50 million tonnes in 2015.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 18 (SMM) - Glencore’s 2015 annual report shows copper output produced with its own resources fell 3% to 1.50 million tonnes in 2015, as a result of suspension at Katanga mine and big output cut at Mopani copper mine, aastocks.com reports.

Its zinc production produced with its own raw material rose 4% to 1.45 million tonnes in 2015, and nickel production fell 5% to 96,200 tonnes.

Glencore aims to produce 1.39 million tonnes of copper in 2016, down 7.5% from 2015. Zinc output target is set at 1.10 million tonnes, a drop of 24.2% year-on-year.
