SHANGHAI, Feb. 17 (SMM) – The majority of regular secondary lead producers resume operation currently in China while disqualified smelters are still out of operation.
Those qualified producers in operation, however, do not run full operation, such as Great China Metal Materials Co., Henan Jinpeng Lead Industry Co., Hubei Jinyang Metallurgy Co., and Hubei Chu Kay Metallurgy Co.
Secondary lead prices remain firmly at 11,850-12,000 yuan per tonne recently with overall transactions muted.
Disqualified smelters hold a wait-and-see posture and one smelter noted that most smelters planned operation restart after China's Lantern Festival due on February 22. Should lead prices continue falling, they will delay the restart.
