SHANGHAI, Feb. 4 (SMM) – Inbound shipments of lead concentrate were high in December 2015, up 11.06% on a yearly basis.
According to China Customs, China imported 189,000 tonne of lead concentrate in December 2015, up 11.06% YoY.
“High imports during the last month of December were due mainly to stock-piling for winter production and price advantages of imported ore,” SMM lead analyst explains.
The imports in December, however, were down 23.27% MoM, and this was mainly because of high import base in November.
Imports of lead concentrate totaled 1.899 million mt in China from January to December 2015, up 4.83% YoY, according to China Customs.
