ALBANY (Scrap Monster): New York-based Alcoa Inc. has entered into a multi-dollar long term supply contract with Boeing. The contract covers supply of critical aerospace components to Boeing. The deal is the latest in the series of long term contracts that the company has entered into with the world’s leading aerospace company. With this contract, Alcoa has secured aerospace contracts worth nearly $10 billion since the beginning of last year.

The agreement covers supply of components for the 777X commercial airplane, the 737 MAX- which is scheduled for release in 2017 and the 878 Dreamliner. The company’s unit, Alcoa Forgings and Extrusions will be responsible for the supply of various components including the wing, fuselage and landing gear.

This is the fourth agreement signed between Alcoa and Boeing. Earlier during December last year, the two companies had entered into a $2.5 billion contract towards supply of fastener systems, in a deal which is considered as the largest fastener deal ever. The contract involves supply of advanced titanium, stainless steel, alloy steel, aluminum and nickel-based superalloy fastening systems to various Boeing platforms such as the 777X, the 737 MAX and the 787 Dreamliner.

Alcoa is the world’s leading producer of primary and fabricated aluminum, as well as the world’s largest miner of bauxite and refiner of alumina. In addition to inventing the modern-day aluminum industry, Alcoa innovation has been behind major milestones in the aerospace, automotive, packaging, building and construction, commercial transportation, consumer electronics and industrial markets over the past 125 years.

Boeing is the world's leading aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined. Additionally, Boeing designs and manufactures rotorcraft, electronic and defense systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles and advanced information and communication systems.
