SHANGHAI, Jan. 29 (SMM) - An increasing number of galvanizers closed for the 2016 Chinese New Year holiday. Some of them held prices firm due to pre-holiday stockpiling, SMM understands. But trading was light.

Zinc oxide producers in China also suspended production for the holiday, with pre-holiday zinc stock replenishment cooling down.

Prices of indirect zinc oxide were 13,000-13,700 yuan per tonne this week. Prices of hot-galvanizing slag (95%) in Tianjin, Shandong and Hebei were 10,700-11,500 yuan per tonne, according to SMM data.
