An SMM survey of 20 Chinese copper tube/pipe producers expect orders to remain stable in January.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 18 (SMM) - An SMM survey of 20 Chinese copper tube/pipe producers finds 60% expect orders to remain stable in January, citing the peak season for air conditioner exports, which will last until after the Chinese New Year holiday. Some of them see output rise in January.

Only a few non-air conditioner copper tube/pipe producers plan to cut output in January. Some will halt production in late January. Consequently, the average operating rate at domestic copper tube/pipe producers is expected to fall to 73.93% in January, down slightly from December’s, SMM says.
