The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to stay below 450 points on Friday due to a sharp decline in cape.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to stay below 450 points on Friday due to a sharp decline in cape, panamax and supramax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, declined sharply by another 16 points to 429 points on Friday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
