Manganese Ore Prices at Chinese Ports Hold Firm, Despite Price Cut by South32

Industry News 10:26:57AM Jan 11, 2016 Source:SMM

SHANGHAI, Jan. 11 (SMM) – Prices for imported manganese ore at Chinese ports held firm, despite price cut by South32.

South32 cut CIF offers of Australian manganese ore (lump, Mn 46%) and CIF offers of Australian manganese ore (granule, Mn 49%) to $2.05/mtu and $1.95/mtu, respectively, for January shipment to China, Chinese traders said.

Manganese ore sales at China’s northern ports were relatively smooth this past week, while those at China’s southern ports remained poor, due to low operating rates at local SiMn alloy producers.
