MUMBAI (Scrap Register): India  major copper scrap commodities prices advanced on Tuesday in line with copper  futures prices at India's Multi Commodity Exchange.

The major copper  scrap commodities traded up on Scrap Register Price Index as on Tuesday. India's  major copper scrap commodities like copper cable scrap, copper heavy scrap and  copper wire bars traded slightly up on Tuesday.

However, the most active February copper  contract on Multi Commodity Exchange settled up by 0.39% to Rs. 311 per kilogram  on Tuesday from previous close of Rs. 309.80 per kilogram. The MCX copper prices  touched an intra-day high of Rs. 313.50 per kilogram and an intra-day low of Rs.  308.40 per kilogram during Tuesday.

Copper futures prices at India's  Multi Commodity Exchange have bounced after China pumped in an estimated $US20  billion ($A28 billion) to stabilise its equity and currency  markets.

However worries over slowing demand in the world’s top metals  user kept gains firmly in check. Activity in China's services sector expanded at  its slowest rate in 17 months in December, a private survey showed on Wednesday,  in a further indication that the world's second-largest economy may be losing  steam.
