Zinc, Copper and Nickel Mining by Chinese Companies Approved in Myanmar

Myanmar government has approved 18 companies from China, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Russia, Japan and Singapore engaging in the mining of zinc, nickel and copper.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 4 (SMM) - Myanmar government has approved 18 companies from China, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Russia, Japan and Singapore engaging in the mining of zinc, nickel, copper, lead, tin, iron, antimony, marble and gold, finance.sina.com reports.

No foreign companies were allowed to mine gold in Myanmar previously. Pearl breeding by foreign companies is also allowed in the country for now.
