MUMBAI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import prices slightly up during the week ended December 18, while Indian plastic scrap prices on Scrap Register Price Index showed mixed trend.

According to TSI, containerized shredded index for Indian imports increased slightly again by $1 a ton to $203 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva port.

Trade was up this week with cargoes booked from the US, Middle East and Europe in the range $202-205 a ton CFR.

The market is, however, still cautious as Indian scrap importers are waiting to hear the government’s policy on steel imports, which is naturally keeping buyers resistant to purchasing new scrap.

The major plastic scrap commodities showed mixed trend on Scrap Register Price Index during the week. The plastic scrap commodities like ABS(bayr), Acrylic, API, HD Moulding (Colour), LLDP Blowing, PVC resin desi and PVC pest grade showed down trend during the week.

The plastic scrap commodities like HD Blowing and Hips(Baff) showed aa uptrend during the week ended December 18.
