SHANGHAI, Jan. 2 (SMM) –Base metals prices on the SHFE ended the last week of 2015 with gains, so did prices in China’s spot market. SMMI gained 0.96%, with zinc leading the gains. SMMI.Zn rose 2.34%, and SMMI.Ni increased 1.4%, versus a 1.06% increase in SMMI.Cu. Tin prices lost rising steam. Both SHFE and spot tin prices fell back, with SMMI.Sn down 2.3%. Lead prices were largely stable. Market sentiment will improve as the new year begins. So, base metals prices are on track for more gains this coming week.
