BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia dropped by 2.3% during the month of November 2015 year-on-year.
The total crude steel production by China during November was 63.320 Million tonnes, edging lower by 1.6% when compared with the production of 64.350 Mt during November 2014. India produced 7.140 Million tonnes of crude steel, marginally lower by 0.2% when compared with 7.157 Million tonnes production achieved during November last year.
Japan reported 4.7% decline in monthly crude steel output during the month. Japan's crude steel output dropped from 9.175 Million tonnes in November 2014 to 8.745 Million tonnes in the same month this year.
South Korean crude steel production edged lower by 0.5% from 5.919 Million tonnes in November 2014 to 5.890 Million tonnes in November this year. Meantime, Pakistan’s crude steel output totaled 230,000 tonnes during the month.
The Taiwanese Oct ‘15 crude steel output has dropped considerably by 22.8% year-on-year to 1.615 Million tonnes from 2.092 Million tonnes during same month last year. Also, Thailand’s crude steel output has dropped sharply by 18% from 329,000 tonnes during November last year to almost 270,000 tonnes this year.
The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first eleven months in 2015 in comparison with those during same period in 2014.
