Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange drops to 474 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities dropped to 474 points on Wednesday mainly due to higher cape rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main  sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities  dropped to 474 points on Wednesday mainly due to higher cape rates.

The  overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax,  supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by 4 points to 474  points on Wednesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the  rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
