The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities edged up to 478 points on Monday mainly due to higher panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities edged up to 478 points on Monday mainly due to higher panamax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up slightly by 1 points to 478 points on Monday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
