US Shredded Scrap prices continue to stay stable at $166 a long ton; US Aluminum Scrap prices remain flat

United States shredded scrap prices continued to remain flat during the week ended December 04.

NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States shredded scrap prices continued to remain flat during the week ended December 04, while major US aluminum scrap commodities weekly average prices on Scrap Register Price Index also showed a flat trend. 

According to TSI, US Midwest weekly shredded index remained flat the week at $166 a long ton (delivered mill). Transactions were heard concluded at stable or higher prices to November’s levels, with those looking for higher volumes paying more to secure the material. 

There were also pockets of significant strength/weakness in various localities. Several mills were heard to be still seeking tons at the end of the week.

The major aluminum scrap commodities on the Scrap Register Price Index showed flat trend during the week. The weekly average scrap prices of Auto Wheels, 5052 Alum Clip, 6061 Alum Extrusion, 6063 Extrusion, Al/Cu Rad with Iron, Al/Cu Radiator, Alum Breakage 50%, Alum Litho Sheets, Alum Old Sheet, Alum Rad with Iron, Alum Radiator, Alum Transformer, Alum Transmission, Alum Turning and Mix Alum Casting stayed flat during the week.
