Firm Zinc Slag Prices Lead to More Shutdown in China

China’s zinc slag prices stay firm recently, and more shutdowns are expected at Chinese zinc oxide plants after the New Year holiday unless orders improve, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 18 (SMM) - China’s zinc slag prices stay firm recently, and more shutdowns are expected at Chinese zinc oxide plants after the New Year holiday unless orders improve, SMM understands.

Prices of hot-galvanizing zinc slag (95%) in Tianjin, Shandong and Hebei stabilized at 10,300-11,000 yuan per tonne this week, SMM data show. Prices of indirect zinc oxide fell to 12,800-13,300 yuan per tonne, following zinc prices.
