Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continue to decline to below 475 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to decline to below 475 points on Wednesday mainly due to lower capesize and supramax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to decline to below 475 points on Wednesday mainly due to lower capesize and supramax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 13 points to 471 points on Wednesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
