SHFE 1602 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,625/mt Wednesday evening, then plunged to RMB 12,485/mt.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 17 (SMM) – SHFE 1602 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,625/mt Wednesday evening, then plunged to RMB 12,485/mt. With the exodus of shorts, SHFE 1602 zinc clawed back some losses and closed the day at RMB 12,680/mt, up RMB 5/mt. Trading volumes on SHFE 1602 zinc contracts were 413,000 lots, and total positions decreased 430 to 197,000.

SHFE 1602 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,680/mt on Thursday, then raced up to RMB 12,830/mt, but fell back to RMB 12,700/mt and closing the day at RMB 12,550/mt, down RMB 125/mt. Trading volumes of SHFE 1602 zinc contracts soared 290,000 to 774,000 lots, with total positions up 1,842 to 200,000. Trading volumes on SHFE zinc soared 341,000 to 942,000 lots.
