The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to stay below 550 points mark on Thursday mainly due to lower capesize panamax and supramax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to stay below 550 points mark on Thursday mainly due to lower capesize panamax and supramax rates.
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 12 points to 534 points on Thursday.
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
