Henan Lead Smelters to Cut Production on SCO Summit

Lead producers in Henan are required to slash production by 20%-50% from Dec. 10-16 due to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit Dec. 14-15, SMM learns.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 11 (SMM) – Lead producers in Henan are required to slash production by 20%-50% from Dec. 10-16 due to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit Dec. 14-15, SMM learns.

Local large lead producers all received the production cut announcement, including Henan Yuguang Gold & Lead, Jiyuan Wanyang Smelting Group and Jinli Lead Smelting Factory. Besides, a majority of neighboring SMEs are also asked to suspend operation.

At present, supply falls short of demand at some smelters in Henan on the back of tightened supply there and pick-up in downstream consumption at year’s end.
