SHFE Zinc Prices Closed with Losses (Dec. 8, 2015)

SHANGHAI, Dec. 8 (SMM) – SHFE 1602 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,765/mt Monday evening, and touched RMB 12,810/mt, but dropped to RMB 12,595/mt with LME zinc, and closed the day down RMB 60/mt. Trading volumes on SHFE 1602 zinc contracts were 332,000 lots, and total positions increased 4,890 to 231,000.

SHFE 1602 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,595/mt on Tuesday, then found support from RMB 12,500/mt. As a large number of longs left the market in the afternoon, SHFE 1602 zinc declined and closed the day at RMB 12,540/mt, down RMB 115/mt. Trading volumes of SHFE 1602 zinc contracts increased 9,148 to 640,000 lots, with total positions down 5,540 to 221,000.
