Taiwanese Containerized Scrap import prices edge up to $151 a ton

Prices for containerized Taiwanese imports of HMS # 1&2 80:20 prices edged up by during the week ended November 27, as per the latest figures from The Steel Index.

TAIPEI (Scrap Register): Prices  for containerized Taiwanese imports of HMS # 1&2 80:20 prices edged up by  during the week ended November 27, as per the latest figures from The Steel  Index.

According to TSI, prices for containerized Taiwanese imports of  HMS #1&2 80:20 edged up by $1 a ton to finish at $150 a ton CFR Taiwanese  port the week.

Appetite for Japanese  cargoes remains strong, with several shipments heard booked the week. Taiwanese  mills reported of not receiving any offers from ISRI suppliers in the US,  although a trade was eventually heard completed.

Participants still do  not see the situation improving for the foreseeable future, and will likely  continue to source the majority of material from Japan.
