China Ignition Battery Exports Mushroom 10.89% MoM in October

China saw ignition battery exports up 10.89% MoM to 1.64 million pieces in October, China Customs reported.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 5 (SMM) – China saw ignition battery exports up 10.89% MoM to 1.64 million pieces in October, China Customs reported.

Lead-acid battery exports came at 17.49 million pieces in October, down 3.45% MoM but edging up 0.03% YoY. Of the exports, other type of batteries claimed 15.86 million pieces except ignition batteries, falling 4.72% from September.

“Battery consumption picks up in motorcycle market and thus orders improve markedly in recent two months”, some battery makers noted.

Exports were up 33.93% MoM at Guangdong Dynavolt Power Technology in October with the company’s ignition battery exports accounting for 28.64% of total ignition battery exports.

Lead-acid battery exports hit 178 million pieces during January-October, accumulatively up 8.8% MoM.
