Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange slips after almost two week of price rise

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities slipped on Wednesday, after almost two week of price rise, due to a sharp rise in capesize and supramax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities slipped on Wednesday, after almost two week of price rise, due to a sharp rise in capesize and supramax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by 8 points to 590 points on Wednesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
