LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities slipped on Wednesday, after almost two week of price rise, due to a sharp rise in capesize and supramax rates.
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by 8 points to 590 points on Wednesday.
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
