ABBEVILLE (Scrap Monster): Florida-based environmental services major, Advanced Disposal has expanded its footprint in Georgia by acquiring assets of two companies. According to company press release, it has completed acquisition of certain assets of Canton-based AC Sanitation Inc. and Macon-based Webb Waste Inc.

The acquisitions are part of the company’s plans to expand operations in the North Atlanta market. The purchase of AC Sanitation will help the company to offer superior solid waste services to residential and commercial customers in Cherokee County, Georgia, said Charlie Gray, Vice President, Advanced Disposal. Also, Webb Waste acquisition will help to complement its existing business base in the Macon and Greater Middle Georgia market, he added.

The company has been in the process of acquiring smaller collection companies with the aim of expanding its market presence into newer areas. It has made 10 acquisitions so far this year. During early-November this year, Advanced Disposal had acquired Dubois, PA-based waste hauler Williams Sanitation Services for an undisclosed amount. The company had added eight employees belonging to Williams Sanitation Services into its payroll.

Headquartered in Ponte Vedra, FL, Advanced Disposal bills itself as the fifth largest solid waste company in the U.S. It provides collection, transfer, disposal and recycling operations to more than 200,000 commercial customers and 2.8 million residential customers throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Wisconsin and the Bahamas.
