SHANGHAI, Nov. 27 (SMM) – Lots of irregular secondary lead producers suspend operation recently in Shandong, Anhui, Henan, Jiangsu, Hebei, Zhejiang and Shanghai due to environmental protection crackdowns, SMM understood.

Especially in Shandong and Jiangsu’s Yangzhou, all secondary lead producers shut down this week in those two regions. Jiangsu-based #2 lead producers dare not to buy secondary lead and thus #2 lead production should fall back in November.

Average operating rate at domestic secondary lead smelters already hit year’s low at 24% in October and is expected to head for losses in November.
