Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange declines further to 519 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities declined further on Wednesday due to a sharp decline in capesize, panamax and supramax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main  sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities  declined further on Wednesday due to a sharp decline in capesize, panamax and  supramax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily  earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport  vessels, down by another 18 points to 519 points on Wednesday.

The main  sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying  dry bulk commodities.
