Traded prices of low-grade NPI ranged between 1,580-1,650 yuan per tonne, averaging 1,615 yuan per tonne, down 10 yuan, Shanghai Metals Market data show.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 19 (SMM) – Traded prices of low-grade NPI ranged between 1,580-1,650 yuan per tonne, averaging 1,615 yuan per tonne, down 10 yuan, Shanghai Metals Market data show.

“The drop in low-grade NPI price is due mainly to price cut by some producers, in order to generate cash,” SMM learns, pushing down mainstream traded prices.

Prices of medium and high-grade NPI, however, remained largely unchanged at 725-735 yuan per mtu and 720-740 yuan per mtu, respectively on Nov. 19, according to SMM data.
