SHANGHAI, Nov. 19 (SMM) – Output of primary nickel in China is expected to fall in 2016, SMM predicted at its annual summit in Shanghai.
“The expected decline in output is due mainly to falling profits at domestic nickel smelters and NPI producers,” SMM nickel analyst explained to the attendees at SMM summit on Nov. 12-13.
“Imports of ferronickel, however, are estimated to grow slightly in the coming year,” the analyst noted, adding mainly from Indonesia.
