LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities plummeted further to stay below 600 points on Friday due to a sharp decline in capesize, panamax and supramax rates.
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 19 points to 560 points on Friday.
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
