Prices of indirect zinc oxide fell nearly 500 yuan per tonne this past week, SMM reports.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 13 (SMM) - Prices of indirect zinc oxide fell nearly 500 yuan per tonne this past week, SMM reports.

The zinc oxide sector reported no improvement in demand. Operating rates at tire industry only average 50-60% at present. Some tire producers said they may build plants overseas due to anti-dumping measures imposed by other countries.

Most zinc oxide plants purchased zinc ingot as needed, and lacked interest in building zinc slag inventories as prices of galvanizing zinc slag were barely changed last week. Prices of hot-galvanizing zinc slag (95%) in Tianjin and Hebei were 11,700-11,900 yuan per tonne last week.
