China’s zinc demand is weak across major downstream sectors in 2015, SMM’s zinc analyst says at the 2015 summit.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 13 (SMM) – China’s zinc demand is weak across major downstream sectors in 2015, SMM’s zinc analyst says at the 2015 summit.

“The galvanizing sector remains as the leading zinc consumer in China, but the growth of consumption from the sector has slowed down in 2015,” SMM’s zinc analyst told the attendees at the summit in Shanghai.

The stringent environment protection inspections, cash tightness and slow demand both home and abroad are expected to slow the zinc consumption growth to 4% in the galvanizing sector, SMM zinc analyst predicted.

Zinc consumption from other sectors, including brass, zinc oxide and die-casting also remains weak.
