Glencore Slashes Lead and Zinc Ore Output Target in 2015

Glencore cut lead and zinc ore output target by 50,000 tonnes (metal content) and 100,000 tonnes (metal content) in 2015 respectively, SMM reported.
SHANGHAI, Nov. 6 (SMM) – Glencore cut lead and zinc ore output target by 50,000 tonnes (metal content) and 100,000 tonnes (metal content) in 2015 respectively, SMM reported.
The target cut rightly came after the company announced lead and zinc ore output cut on October 9. The following table shows detailed changes in output target.

The company lowered lead ore production target to 285,000-310,000 tonnes (metal content) in 2015, compared with 2014’s actual production of 308,000 tonnes (metal content). Lead concentrate output came at 229,000 tonnes (metal content) during January-September, claiming 73.9%-80.4% of year’s target.
And the company slashed zinc ore output target to 1.42-1.47 million tonnes (metal content) in 2015, still above 2014’s actual production of 1.39 million tonnes (metal content). Zinc concentrate production totaled 1.13 tonnes (metal content) in the first three quarters, accounting for 76.7%-79.3% of annual target.
