Extended Producer Responsibility to Gain Ground in China Lead-acid Battery Industry

The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is introduced in the draft of Specification for Chinese Lead-Acid Battery Industry, SMM points out.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 30 (SMM) – The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is introduced in the draft of Specification for Chinese Lead-Acid Battery Industry, SMM points out.

The EPR encourages lead-acid battery producers to set up scrap battery recycling system through marketing channel and to jointly establish scrap battery treating system with regular secondary lead producers. Meanwhile, battery makers shall not use products produced by disqualified secondary lead producers as raw materials.  

The draft is currently asking for public opinions, which will end on November 9, 2015.
