US H1 scrap average prices remain flat for second week in a row

The US H1 scrap average prices remained unchanged from the previous week as on 26th October, 2015. The prices held steady upon comparison with the previous week.

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): The US H1 scrap average prices were at $152.50 per long ton, as on 26thOctober, 2015. The prices held steady upon comparison with the previous week. The US H1 scrap average prices held steady for the second consecutive week.

The average price of US H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia was $152.50 per long ton, remaining flat when compared with the previous week. The scrap prices had averaged at $152.50 per long ton as on 19th October, 2015.

The H1 scrap average price in Pittsburg was $149.50 per long ton.  The average price held steady when compared with the previous week’s price. In Chicago the prices averaged at $164.50 per long ton. The prices here too remained unchanged when matched with the previous week. The average price in Philadelphia was $143.50 per long ton. The prices here too remained flat when compared with the week before.

It must be noted that the average H1 scrap price in Pittsburg, Chicago and Philadelphia had reported sharp weekly declines of $50 per long ton, $50 per long ton and $40 per long ton respectively as on October 12th.

Meantime, the weekly crude steel dropped marginally by 0.5% during the week from October 17th to October 24th. The output declined by 8,000 short tons to 1.667 million short tons during the week.
