ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import average prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) continued to decline by $9 a ton week-on-week to $173 a ton in the week ended October 16, as per the latest figures from the Steel Index.
According to TSI, daily benchmark index for deep-sea Turkish imports of HMS #1&2 80:20 fell by $12 a ton from last Friday to end the week at $170 a ton CFR Iskenderun port.
A number of cargoes were booked in and around US$170/t from European and Baltic suppliers, as the decline in scrap prices showed no sign of slowing for the immediate future at least.
Mill bids have reportedly already entered into the $160-165 a ton range.
