The crude steel production by the Asian region has declined by 3.4% in September this year.Crude steel output by Asian region declined 3% in September
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia dropped by 3.4% during the month of September 2015 year-on-year.
The total crude steel production by China during September was 66.120 Million tonnes, edging lower by 3.0% when compared with the production of 68.164 Mt during September 2014. India produced 7.261 Million tonnes of crude steel, slightly lower by 1.4% when compared with 7.362 Million tonnes production achieved during September last year.
Japan reported 7.3% decline in monthly crude steel output during the month. Japan's crude steel output dropped from 9.251 Million tonnes in September 2014 to 8.573 Million tonnes in the same month this year.
South Korean crude steel production edged lower marginally by 2.7% from 5.769 Million tonnes in September 2014 to 5.615 Million tonnes in September this year. Meantime, Pakistan’s crude steel output totaled 200,000 tonnes during the month.
The Taiwanese Sep ‘15 crude steel output dropped by 6.0% year-on-year to 1.760 Million tonnes from 1.872 Million tonnes during same month last year. Also Thailand’s crude steel output dropped by nearly 13% from 344,000 tonnes during September last year to almost 300,000 tonnes this year.
The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first nine months in 2015 in comparison with those during same period in 2014.
