Nickel ore inventories at six major Chinese ports were 9.88 million tonnes last week, down 230,000 tonnes on a weekly basis, SMM data show.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 26 (SMM) - Nickel ore inventories at six major Chinese ports were 9.88 million tonnes last week, down 230,000 tonnes on a weekly basis, Shanghai Metals Market data show.

“Fewer arrivals of shipments and pick-up by domestic NPI producers are main reasons behind the decline at ports’ inventories,” SMM nickel analyst says.

Last week, the Port of Lanshan, Lianyungang and Yingkou each saw the arrival of one shipment, and other three ports reported no arrivals.

Four ships are expected to arrive this week, SMM expects.
