Secondary lead smelters in China reported light profits in this past week, SMM noted.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 26 (SMM) – Secondary lead smelters in China reported light profits in the past week, SMM noted.

Secondary lead traded at 12,650-12,850 yuan per tonne last week and the average price stood at 12,755 yuan per tonne, slipping 20 yuan per tonne on the weekly basis, cutting profits.

Scrap automobile battery (white shell) and motive battery prices averaged 6,990 yuan per tonne and 7,490 yuan per tonne, respectively, down 10 yuan per tonne from a week ago. This cut costs by 16 yuan per tonne, only 4 yuan per tonne lower than the drop in selling prices.
